|
|
After a kernel upgrade from 2.6.18-suspend2-r1 to 2.6.20-suspend2-r6, I haven't been able to suspend-to-ram properly. When I close the lid of my Dell notebook or use the Fn-Suspend Key combination, the system will suspend, but the LCD backlight remains on. However, if I execute from the command line "hibernate-ram", the system suspends properly, with the LCD shutting off.
I haven't made any changes to the config files in the /etc/hibernate directory, and all the kernel options for power management from the new kernel are the same as in my older kernel. I also have app-laptop/radeontool installed.
I suspect my problem has something to do with configuration of radeontool. In my original configuration, in my /etc/hibernate/ram.conf file, I have the following option set:
If I comment out the above option, executing "hibernate-ram" from the command line the backlight will stay on. if I reinstate "RadeonTool Yes" option, then the system suspends properly from the command line.
I wonder if the hibernate script even reads the /etc/hibernate/ram.conf file when I press Fn-Suspend on my keyboard or when I close the notebook's lid.
Can anyone suggest a fix? _________________ There are three types of people in the world...those that can count and those that can't. |
