Actually i am more than willing to make an ebuild not only for gimpshop but for other apps as well and give back and helg gentoo much more.
But sadly i have no idea about scriptingand other things in use here i only have some c and c++ knowledge. I have even tried building an ebuild for some apps such as azureus-3.0, gyache plugins, gyaci they seemed to start off well but after emerging most of them fail to compile properly.

I am willing to learn , actually i am very much interested in these things but am not very bright.
Things have worked differently for me always i always seemed to need tought the basics of something then i am able go higher myself.

But anyways i will give it a try again, i'll see wat i can do.
Thnx

Looking at the bug, it seems they didn't even say why. About the only thing said seems to indicate it will be too much work to maintain.

I would look at submitting it to one of the overlays out there. Take a look at the layman overlay lists to see if there is one on the same theme of programs.
