how to get chardetect to work in audacious?

I've been trying to get audacious to display chinese characters that are automatically fetched from CDDB. I've tried setting "gbk gb18030 big5-hkscs" in fallback encodings and the characters doesn't display properly too. The chardetect USE flag is set and my locale is in UTF-8. Any ideas?

AFAIK, our CDDB support does not cover chardet yet.

thanks for the information. i have another question:
i played some mp3 and chardet works correctly in the playlist window but garbage characters shows up in the player window. Is this a bug? I'm using v1.3.2.

I'm not sure about this, but maybe the font of the playlist window doesn't support the characters? Did you try another font already?

the playlist window is the one that displays the characters correctly but the player window is not. i don't know how to change the default fonts. can you point me to a howto? thanks.
