2.6.21 oops in sis900_interrupt

I've just installed the new gentoo-sources-2.6.21. The computer boots normally but sooner or later (0-10 seconds) it oopses with the following message (excerpt only):

Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt


I never had similar problems with previous kernels.

I have tried two things:

- disable "Tickless system" option, as it was probably the biggest change since 2.6.20,
- run the system without nvidia module modprobed,

but still I was getting the same problem.

Any ideas/hints?

Patch to fix driver is at http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0704.3/1989.html there are additional patches to fix the driver in the thread.
