I'm trying to install alsa on 1.4-rc4 but the compile fails stating that the GCC version I have and the one I used to compile the kernel are different. I know this wrong. Looking though the sources it tries to create a test app to find the kernel's GCC version, and uses /usr/src/linux/include/linux/compile.h, which doesn't exist. The compile of the test app fails, so configure fails and since the error was near the kernel incompatibility, it blamed it on that.
Any ideas on this one? I've been compiling for too long to give up now _________________ When it comes to dying, robots are as boring as a performance of Richard III with an all potato cast. |

try reinstalling the kernel sources, and then look again for your missing file. _________________ there is no crazy, only violet and non violet.. |
