8)

The Friday Night b0rkage should now be fixed in svn update xulrunner and minefield.
I only hope that the mozilla build "gurus" are now content with the borkedness of their build system and will not change it anymore, but I think the builds will break again sooner than later :)

@Vlad.Sharp:
I don't know, but the mercurial repo has only firefox and xulrunner.
@Ken69267:
yes, I know https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=185294, but I don't have the time to fix it, so I just bumped it as it works.
@Dottout:
I'll test it now with -r4, the last 3-4 days I have used only the -r5 revision on xulrunner and it worked there, but probably something changed.
[EDIT]They have moved from myspell to hunspell also, so I'll have to redo the patches for all of them[/EDIT]

Seems python 2.5 sets it correctly thou.

xulrunner fails in configure because it needs a libpng with APNG (PNG alpha) support. Now, mozilla's trunk has a png impl - so adding mozconfig-annotate '' --without-system-png should work (in theory, trying it now :) )

you have an old eclass somewhere, probably could be a clash with the arcon versions, as you've said that you have it installed.
system png should be disabled for more than two weeks now.
@math_roc:
this is probably because of the glitz usage, I don't have such problems, but there were already complaints about this. I'll try to remake my patch and offer builds with glitz use-flag, but I could not promise when this'll happen.

Hmnn. I don't know - I do have arcon overlay, so possibly... I added the things to the ebuild anyway, so it builds... However, it would be useful if APNG support was in the portage libpng. I guess in the coming months that will happen anyways. :D

I've added glitz use flag to xulrunner and minefield-9999-r4 - it seems that mozilla has fixed the glitz switch at least partially, as it now works, when glitz is disabled, ie it does not link to glitz, though I don't see a big speed difference, but probably could help the folks without proper 3d acceleration support.

Anyone got this working for PPC? I can't get it to compile on my laptop.

Code:
../../../../../../config/rules.mk:286: *** XPTCall not implemented on this platform!.  Stop.

Probably it does not recognize it correctly, could you look after configure how are OS_ARCH and OS_TEST defined, they should be Linux and ppc respectively.

Hmm, where exactly can I find this? ./configure doesn't seem to say and grepping the work directory doesn't return anything useful.

OS_TEST=powerpc

HOST_OS_ARCH = Linux
host_cpu = powerpc
host_vendor = unknown
host_os = linux-gnu

TARGET_NSPR_MDCPUCFG = \"md/_linux.cfg\"
TARGET_CPU = powerpc
TARGET_VENDOR = unknown
TARGET_OS = linux-gnu
TARGET_MD_ARCH = unix
TARGET_XPCOM_ABI = ppc-gcc3

hmm, why does it mention ppc-gcc3 :/. I'm running 4.2.

could you try if this patch will work for you:

The same error? Strange
The build was failing in xpcom/reflect/xptcall/src/md/unix
so in the Makefile.in there is:
Code:
#
# Linux/PPC
#
ifeq ($(OS_ARCH)$(OS_TEST),Linuxppc)
CPPSRCS      := xptcinvoke_ppc_linux.cpp xptcstubs_ppc_linux.cpp
ASFILES      := xptcinvoke_asm_ppc_linux.s xptcstubs_asm_ppc_linux.s
AS      := $(CC) -c -x assembler-with-cpp
endif

the next possibility is to try to change it to something like this:

Code:
#
# Linux/PPC
#
ifneq (,$(filter Linuxppc Linuxpowerpc,$(OS_ARCH)$(OS_TEST)))
CPPSRCS      := xptcinvoke_ppc_linux.cpp xptcstubs_ppc_linux.cpp
ASFILES      := xptcinvoke_asm_ppc_linux.s xptcstubs_asm_ppc_linux.s
AS      := $(CC) -c -x assembler-with-cpp
endif
