Fixed. Why?

[ebuild U ] dev-db/sqlite-3.5.6 [3.5.3]

That did it. Makes sense, since all the problems (going back a page, bookmarks gone) would have to do with Minefield's ability to store URLs in the DB.

Ups, that indeed makes sense. I thought for a moment to ask about which sqlite version people having this problem have installed, but as my earlier guesses were unsuccessful I restrained from asking :? Anyway, I wonder, why your sqlite version was 3.5.3 up to now, 3.5.6 has been stabilized a few days ago, so my question is are you running with x86 or amd64 stable keywords? If thats the case you should probably at least allow the dependencies to be ~x86 or ~amd64 (whatever system you are running). Those dependencies are in the ebuild but also in the eclasses.

Hi, I've added epiphany,epiphany-extensions, yelp and liferea to the overlay. They are using now the new xulrunner, parts of the patches are taken from the respective b.g.o bugs, but are not the same. Ok, enough details have fun :)

minefield now require >=sqlite-3.5.7
Code:
checking for sqlite3 >= 3.5.7... Requested 'sqlite3 >= 3.5.7' but version of SQLite is 3.5
configure: error: Library requirements (sqlite3 >= 3.5.7) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

renaming old sqlite ebuild to 3.5.7 didnt solve

edit: well, you dont want to wait, you can update sqlite and modify minefield configure.in to check for 3.5 instead of 3.5.7

Anyone knows why the fonts in minefield are bigger than in normal ff and in other gtk apps? That makes no sense to me, where does minefield get the fontsize from?

I don't have that problem in FF3 beta 4, There are a few things

in about:config I believe there is a css dpi setting which can be enabled or disabled.

Also in your preferences, FF keeps it own set of fonts and sizes. You can make sure these match your FF2 settings.

I guess these options all effect how minefield renders the page, but I'm talking about the GUI itself.

But I compiled minefield with gnome useflag and now it picks up the correct fontsize.

Anybody know how to make mplayerplug-in either use xulrunner:1.8, ro compile correctly against 1.9?

Currently it expects 1.8 but does not know about the multislot and so fails when it hits 1.9 stuff.

compiling is not a problem, it does not work, when compiled, at least the last time I checked it.
I have some more builds of things against the new xulrunner, but I think that I should slot xulrunner to keep with official mozilla overlay.
In the meantime added a new libpng version with an updated patch and it should be possible again to build epiphany against the new xulrunner.

The built-in add-ons browser in minefield should work, but does not with the minefield ebuild. As my thinkpad runs arch, i compiled minefield there, and the addon browser and finder works perfectly well. any chance to see that working with the ebuild?

I could not reproduce the build failure. I'll look at the problem with the add-ons browser, most probably it's looking for minefield extensions and of course could not find them - the same problem as with the start site:)

Yeah, I guess it was something wrong with my local copy of repo. I removed it, fetch again and it didn't complain about anything this time.

Ok, I've patched the config and now it seems to look for the firefox plugins, but it still does not find anything compatible, probably still needs some work or the version information should be faked. If someone knows how it should identify itself to be able to find some extensions I could patch the configs ...

nice, I had the same problem. will try out fix when I get home

edit - I couldn't find the page either, using search.
turns out it's on the bug page

Seems it's a problem with mozilla-launcher wanting to run 'aoss firefox', and some library trouble. running straight /opt/firefox/firefox works, and so does unmerging also-oss.

Thanks for the link. Well I don't have aoss, and it doesn't work with beta4 any more, also the bin ebuild do not work so I can safely exclude the posibility that there are problems with my build.

A temp. solution is to lauch FF with /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/firefox instead of using all those wrapper scripts.

the 008_xulrunner-gentoo-pkgconfig-4.patch for xulrunner-9999 fails to apply now. Heres the new patch:

I can't make beta5 to use lithuanian UI. I've emerged it with LINGUAS="lt", changed general.useragent.locale value to lt, lt-LT and even lt_LT, but it's still in English.
