(SOLVED) Why only 904820kB memory is used while 2GB is insta

Hi,

I just realized that there is a memory problem with my Gentoo installation. I have 2GB memory installed and the BIOS can recognize 2GB. But the /proc/meminfo shows only 904820kB is used, which is around 883.6MB. I wonder why this happens. My gentoo works great but it only uses less than half of the memory installed. Thanks a lot for your help.

Try enabling in your kernel "Processor type and features --> High Memory Support --> 4GB"
