wierd problems with dissapearing binaries.....

I've been having tis weird ass problem for about a two-weeks. I started noticing that files (specifically binaries ) were dispearing on me. I had to re-emerge (the programs were installed) to get them back. For example, ealier today i noticed /usr/bin/xv wasn't there, so i emerged xv again. A week ago I tried running openoffice and it was saying it coulnd't find /usr/bin/basename , so i had to re-emerge basename. And just now, i had to re-emerge Python because /usr/bin/python was missing. Anyone know what the hell could be happening??


Edit: I just notcied that /usr/bin/ftp from pkg net-ftp/ftp is missing to, time re-emere that.....
