Hi all.
I'm going to upgrade my Gentoo desktop, and I realized that the motherboard I'm going to
buy (Asus P5LD2/C) doesn't have an AGP slot. This obviously means I can't use my video card
as I planned.
now I'm looking for a cheap PCI Express video card, and I don't care about video-RAM/frames per second/GPU/shaders and so on... I need only my KDE desktop and watch movies.
Could you suggest a video card that is cheap, quiet, possibly fan-less, and well supported by Gentoo/Xorg?

I have a GeForce 7600 (fan) which cost under 100. This card is powerful enough for all the beryl effects in kde while not pinching the pocket.

The general rule is: Get anything by nvidia
Nvidia cards are well supported under linux. |
