Rsync questions

Hi,

I am creating a backup solution for my samba file server.
The backup should be on a lacy ethernet disk which runs a small version of winxp. It has samba and ftp.

First questions is it possible to use incremental backups and keep 7 days.
So I take a full backup on sunday and then incrementals during weekday (Mon-Fri). Is it still possible to recover a file from Monday when the day is Friday? Or does it just keep the last backup?

Then how is possible to send the rsync mail to another user instead of root. Preferably a e-mail address.

I'm not sure about your proposed use of Rsync.

But for the cronjob email look at man 5 crontab and mailto option.
