I cannot seem to get certain fonts to look good in my rxvt-unicode terminal. Bitstream Vera Sans Mono, looks perfect, but I'm trying to get Anonymous and Monaco to look better. Here's a screenie

Here's my .Xdefaults

Code:
Xft.dpi: 75
Xft.hinting: 1
Xft.hintstyle: hintfull
Xft.antialias: 1
Xft.rgba: rgb
#urxvt*font: xft:Bitstream Vera Sans Mono-11:
urxvt*font: xft:monaco:pixelsize=15:

I added all the hinting and antialiasing stuff in an attempt to fix it, all i had originally was the dpi line, which doesnt affect anything when changed. If there's anything else that would be helpful please let me know. Thanks!

Appending :unscaled to the fontpath for bitmap fonts should clean that up.
eg.
Code:
 FontPath        "/usr/share/fonts/sgi-fonts/:unscaled"

Not sure when fonts are in ~/.fonts but it's font scaling thats making the bold bitmap fonts ugly.

edit: I completely missed that you were wanting to use xft. somehow

I suggest reading through the xeffects thread. Looks like the "bold is too bold" problem.

You really should use a dpi of 96 or higher.
