I rebooted my gentoo machine and on startup am now exp. a problem. eth0 will not startup using the net.eth0 script.
I have a dhcp server running on the network but the computer seems to hang and fail when i run /sbin/dchpd. I have to manually assign the ethernet an ip address and THEN run /sbin/dhcpd in order for it to initalize the card.
What the heck could cuase this? Im stumped ! |

Sounds like he launched dhcpd instead of dhcpcd or something
