I'm trying to get emerge to compile enlightenment-0.16.8.6 but get the following error:

!!! ERROR: x11-wm/enlightenment-0.16.8.6 failed.
Call stack:
ebuild.sh, line 1630: Called dyn_setup
ebuild.sh, line 782: Called qa_call 'pkg_setup'
ebuild.sh, line 38: Called pkg_setup
enlightenment-0.16.8.6.ebuild, line 47: Called die

I'm rather new to gentoo so I'm not quite sure how I would proceed with this. I've tried emerging another package (ksh93) with all its dependencies and get a similar error..

Few more lines before the above error message will be helpful.... and also your emerge --info

I don't see the relevance ..

Code:

>>> Emerging (1 of 1) x11-wm/enlightenment-0.16.8.6 to /
* e16-0.16.8.8.tar.gz MD5 ;-) ...                  [ ok ]
* e16-0.16.8.8.tar.gz RMD160 ;-) ...      [ ok ]
* e16-0.16.8.8.tar.gz SHA1 ;-) ...                [ ok ]
* e16-0.16.8.8.tar.gz SHA256 ;-) ...             [ ok ]
* e16-0.16.8.8.tar.gz size ;-) ...                   [ ok ]
* checking ebuild checksums ;-) ...             [ ok ]
* checking auxfile checksums ;-) ...            [ ok ]
* checking miscfile checksums ;-) ...          [ ok ]
* checking e16-0.16.8.8.tar.gz ;-) ...          [ ok ]

As for 'emerge --info' .. hmmm.

add 'Solved' to subject of original message, if you feel it is.

As for 'emerge --info' .. hmmm.
For future reference, your first posting didn't show the actual error message, just portage saying, "Help, I've crashed." There's no information as to what it was doing when it crashed or why it thinks it might have crashed. Since compiling is a sequential process, posting the preceding lines helps show where the problem occurred and makes troubleshooting possible.

The Forum Guidelines indicate the kinds of information folks are going to need to answer questions and indicate some other resources you can persue.

HTH,
m

That's all it showed in the error log .. something in /var/log/tmp .. etc.

Right now I've hit another snag: e16 starts up grey with no graphics nor menus of any kind. Even a ctrl+alt+backspace wont exit.
