I have a Voodoo5, somehow (i don't know how exactly) I've managed to double my glxgears score (to 112), but when i ctrl-alt-f* to a VT, i get flashing colours and nonsense. same deal for killing the x server
this happened after i enabled xfree-dga, so i disabled it... fat lot of good that did me, too.
glxinfo | grep direct reports:

OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect

so there's problem 1, DRI's not doing it's job
should I try to compile DRI myself, or does the answer lie buried in my system?
