I'm having a video problem. In everything on my display, everything looks splotchy, kind of like bad jpeg compression. Is anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it?

Here's my xorg.conf:
Code:

EndSection

When I used scrot or import the image was fine. This is what I could get with my camera:

(The corruption is especially prevalent on the shirt.)

It might look like that if you were at 15 or 16 bit color depth, but your xorg.conf clearly specifies 24.

This should output " depth of root window: 24 planes":
Code:
xdpyinfo | grep "depth of"
(x11-apps/xdpyinfo)

Does it happen with that other operating system, or with a different monitor? Is the video card overclocked?

I don't have a livecd, so I can't do that test.
It works fine on another monitor. It's not overclocked.

That's a big red flag. A different monitor didn't have this problem with the same configuration, same resolution, same everything else? If so, that leaves only your monitor as the cause.

If there's any doubt, you can confirm it by trying your monitor with another computer.
