localhost ~ # emerge -aC Ataxx

--- Couldn't find 'Ataxx' to unmerge.

localhost ~ # emerge -aC gataxx
>>> These are the packages that would be unmerged:

You can't uninstall the basic GNOME games (like Ataxx) individually because one package, gnome-games, supplies them all. Uninstall that package to get rid of them all, or edit the Applications menu (right-click) if you want to hide some but keep others.
To find out which package owns a file, e.g., /usr/bin/gataxx: Code: | emerge -av gentoolkit
equery belongs /usr/bin/gataxx |
Edit: Typo in package name. _________________ Plants are pithy, brooks tend to babble--I'm content to lie between them.
Super-short f.g.o checklist: Search first, strip comments, mark solved, help others.

Code: | $ equery belongs equery
app-portage/gentoolkit-0.2.3-r1 (/usr/bin/equery) |

Or maybe just cat /var/lib/portage/world, although that will only show explicitly emerged packages and not dependancies that were pulled in by e.g. gnome/kde/whatever. grep it for games if you feel the need (not sure if you mean you want rid of all games on the system(s)) |

Did you follow my instructions above, reiterated by PaulBredbury?
emerge -av gentoolkit. That package provides equery and other important package management tools. _________________ Plants are pithy, brooks tend to babble--I'm content to lie between them.
