2007.0 mirrorselect issue

Hi,

I have been using the 2007.0 minimal installation cd on my macbook pro, i have got upto the stage were i must now select the mirrors i want to use for downloading and syncing, to do thi sidecided to use the mirrorselect tool, i have a wired internet connection that works perfectly i.e. it pings hosts etc correctly with zero packet loss.

However when i issue the command: mirrorselect -i -o >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf

I get the downloading mirrors prompt..... and it hangs there for ages and does nothing????

Surely it should work if it has a working connection?

Just because you have a working connection doesn't mean all the servers it's trying to download do as well.
