I have just installet gentoo on my laptop but it keeps freezing the same place all the time.
The last two lines is this.

I don't get any kernal panic, it just freezes |

provide the last few error messages
how do we understand what is going on?
is your /etc/fstab correctly written? _________________ reach out a little bit more to catch it (DON'T BELIEVE the advocate part under my user name) |

i feel you have not emerged udev
are you using genkernel?
your grub indtall did not give any error?
i would suggest you do again all the steps after emerging gentoo-sources
do not forget to copy the mtab
mount proc and dev and the partitions you are using for gentoo.

I will try to emerge udev and see if that helps.
I used genkernel and didn't get any error from grub.
I havn't copied mtab because i used grud manually. |
