I really like gentoo in every way but the thing I like more about other distro's(KUbuntu anyway) is that when you install a new program with the package manager, it automatically adds it to the K-menu. Is there any way to achieve the same thing in Gentoo? That when I emerge a new application, it appears in my menu right away?

If the program installs a .desktop file into /usr/share/applications, kmenu should pick it up, at least it does for me. Which programs do not have a menu entry for you?

Last things I've emerged and are missing are kword, krita, raki, but there are others that are also missing as I've noticed in the past.

Right, somehow everything that got added automatically got added to my .menu file as to be excluded so nothing new showed up. I don't have a clue how this happened but I removed my .menu file and now the new stuff is there!
