usb-storage: *** thread sleeping - what is this?

I've noticed that every time i shutdown or restart my box, messages that say "usb-storage: *** thread sleeping" appear and loop continuously and my computer never shuts down/restarts, so i have to manually do it, which is probably going to take its toll sooner or later. Do i have to kill the usb-storage process before shutting down/restarting?
