I wonder if the live cd app i suppose to run like its and calculator from the 80´s ??
its taking me forever just to load the system up, running the installer GUI wil surely take hours.
is it my ram? 300 mb ram? too small? 2,4 GHz p4? |

Linux4sure,
Welcome to Gentoo.
The CD is slower than your real install because
a) CDs are much slower than HDD
b) The CD content is compressed and must be decompressed before it can be used.
Further, the liveCD kernel may not have enabled DMA on your system, you can fix that when you make your own kernel.
