has the ebuild been changed recently? i remember emerging quake2 a week or so ago and having it run beautifully, now It runs terribly lagged with the crappy original effects (as opposed to the cool new ones)
what is this quake2-0.15 crap and why does it suck so much???
i'm going to download the installer from icculus and see if it makes a difference.

I emerged it tonight
i get a whole 16 fps at 800*600 with a Voodoo 5 and Duron 1000 on a timedemo of demo1.dm2.
I might be having other issues mind you. I was going to post a thread about improving the frame rate in Quake 2 but maybe there are problems in the ebuild. I will wait and see if any others are having issues. |

i downloaded and compiled the source from icculus and that didn't work, it complains that it's missing some Q2MAX (aka fancy effects) medias, even though i installed the necessary paks for it
the binary installer makes little difference
