Aha so this is very optimized (from code size point of view) linux distribution? Could it be used as embeded OS in some microprocessor (e.g. ARM or something less powerful)?
Thanks |

Sure, if you build it that way. Gentoo is what you want it to be, so build it the way you want! The first three or four installs could be kinda difficult but you'll get the hang of it. _________________ I'm too lazy to keep this stupid signature up to date, so here's something more interesting:

What about other linux distributions that are also optimized (if they exist )....i mean what are gentoo specific benefits besides size? |

Gentoo isn't really that optimized. Gentoo is customized. It gives you unparalleled control over every aspect of your system. _________________ I'm too lazy to keep this stupid signature up to date, so here's something more interesting:

So basically i could create binary image with kernel and e.g. serial terminal and burn it in a flash "easily" (without a lot of work) and if i take some standard hw. |

Actually, yeah you could.
Also, the package manager, Portage, is awesome.
The USE variable is a great feature too, so you can remove functionality you don't use. _________________ I'm too lazy to keep this stupid signature up to date, so here's something more interesting:
