Hello,
I am attempting to install LVM2 on a 64-bit machine. (Xeon -em64t). When emerging LVM2 I get the following error when building the dependancy device-mapper-1.20.10-r1
.Checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
Anyone run into this yet? I also get the same errors when i tried to emerge vixie-cron. Thanks!!

Ok i found out why it was failing. When i tested the CFLAGS and it was failing from the march setting.
I have an irwindale xeon 3.06ghz processor with em64t. I tried march=cocona and the build failed. When i leave out the march flag it will build.
Any suggestions on the march flag? |
