Konq use to allow creation of WARs. It no longer seems to inlcude that or such features as shred or filters. Are there any links to how to add these?

Thanks

I assume you're talking about the "Archive Web Page" option on Konqueror's Tools menu? The WAR files that Konqueror creates are not the same as Java's WAR files. Konqueror's web archives are TAR files while Java's are ZIP files (well, actually JAR, which is just ZIP with a few extra features). So your problem has nothing to do with Java.

If you're not able to open Konqueror's web archives, make sure you have the app-arch/tar package installed . . . although I can't imagine how you'd have a working system without it :? You can try untar-ing one from the command line and see if it works, to see whether the file is corrupt or not.

If you're not seeing the Archive Web Page menu item, install kde-base/konq-plugins.

konq-plugins is installed and I can create .war archive file.

but I cannot open them in konqueror. When I try to open an konqueror .war archive file.

It says (in french):
Il y a une erreur de configuration. Vous avez associé Konqueror avec « application/x-webarchive » mais il ne sait pas gérer ce type de fichiers.

there is an error of configuration. You asociated konqueror with « application/x-webarchive » but it cannot managed this type of file.

Huh?

Just go to Konqueror -> Settings -> configure Konqueror -> File associations -> applications -> x-zip
and add *.war to the list.

The funny is that preview is working in konqueror!

I tried with a new user with default configurations in kde and konqueror can open .war file!
=> USE=java for konqueror is not needed.

Solved!
It should be linked to application konqueror and incorporated in konqueror and it works!
