I've been having some issues of late with my epson stylus cx4200 printer. I followed the gentoo printing instructions I found online and got the thing to print the test page like the best of em. I can scan stuff fine, but I just had my first occasion to actually print something. It printed half the top quarter of the page and then stopped. It didn't spit it out as if it was done just left it there. I hit the button and it spat it out, so then I reverted back to the tride and true test page, but it did the same thing. Now everything that I try to print, it prints about a quarter of and then stops.

I will also note, I moved to gentoo from ubuntu about two months ago, and I had this printer working with ubuntu. It served me well but near the end of my time with ubuntu, I ran against this exact same problem. I was excited when gentoo printed the first test page in full instead of only about a quarter of it, but now I have the exact same problem again. It quickly went back to it's same old problem.

I don't have any idea where to go from here. I don't even know if it is a software problem, or if the printer just sucks. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

No it won't. The cups manager (localhost:631) says that it is done, but the printer stops and it wont print anything until it has been restarted.
