I'm looking to set up a VPN, but am a little apprehensive as past attempts (excluding Hamachi, which is fine until you want to customise a little more) have left me irritated.
The VPN solutions must be:
- Useable by both Windows and *nix computers.
- Simple to set up on at least a basic level. I want it to work without much hassle, but have the option of a more in-depth configuration.
- In Portage, ideally.
Anyone want to make any suggestions? Or throw me any links to sites I may find useful.
Thanks in advance |

Have you had a look at OpenVPN. I don't know if you would call it simple, but it works on Windows and is in portage. _________________ "What a distressing contrast there is between the radiant intelligence of a child and the feeble mentality of the average adult" --Freud |

Mm, I did indeed look at OpenVPN.
I should have stated this more clearly - ideally I need to be able to connect to the VPN with a Windows box without installing any extra software. I know that there are different kinds of VPN (if memory serves, Windows plays nice with IPSec?), but I'm not educated enough on the subject to know what I should be looking at.
However, I got some good reading from the openvpn site, thank you |
