HI,

I am looking for an DVB-T device but I don't know which one to buy.

This are my requirements:
- USB interface, a USB stick, because I do have a laptop
- work under Linux (amd64) without any tricky hacks
- mid price
- mainly for watching tv, recording features etc. are not a must

Thanx for any recommendations and hints.

First I have to admit, that I'm running my laptop in 32-bit mode (arch ~x86).

I use a Terratec Cinergy T2 USB2.0 Device (hey there is even a kernel option for that in newer kernels) amd I'm quite satisfied (only watching, haven't tried recording yet). Prices are now 50-60 Euros.

If you want to give it a try, don't forget that xine has emerge'd with USE="mad", otherwise you will get no sound.

Hi hermanng,

thanks for the advice. I considered about this device too. Happy to see that it works with Linux. July, 10th will be he date that DVB-T is available here in Freiburg region. So I have enough time to meditate about ... :D

I have a Terratec Cinergy Hybrid T XL running without any problems, it works with the em2880 driver (which is not part of the kernel yet, though)...

Just forgot some additional info ...
I live in a place were I have direct sight to the DVB-T sender. Nevertheless the delivered mini-antenna with the Cinergy T2 was not sufficient to get strong enough signals. I had to buy a normal unamplified room antenna.
