Since I compiled gentoo I have something like this in logs:
Code:
[ACPI Debug]  String: [0x10] "BAT0_BST_RETURN:"
[ACPI Debug]  String: [0x10] "BAT0_BST_RETURN:"
[ACPI Debug]  String: [0x10] "BAT0_BST_RETURN:"
[ACPI Debug]  String: [0x10] "BAT0_BST_RETURN:"
[ACPI Debug]  String: [0x10] "BAT0_BST_RETURN:"
[ACPI Debug]  String: [0x10] "BAT0_BST_RETURN:"
[ACPI Debug]  String: [0x10] "BAT0_BST_RETURN:"
[ACPI Debug]  String: [0x10] "BAT0_BST_RETURN:"

This shows once a few seconds.
I compiled kernel with ACPI/Battery support, and didn't chose Smart Battery System(should I?)
System is working without any problem, when I plug or unplug AC power the icon in tray changes, but if I want check something in logs without grep I have only that rubbish.

See if you have Debug Statements support in your kernel if you do that could be causing your problem. It's under Power Management ACPI.

I have the same problem as nusch, but I have Debug Statements disabled in my kernel.

Any other idea?

Are you sure, after you disabled debug statement , you've recompiled kernel and currently running on it?

Yes, because Debug Statement was never enabled.
