I've emerged gkrellm and it's started with:
Code: | /etc/init.d/gkrellmd start |
But I don't see it on my desktop. How do I get it on my desktop? |

That doesn't run. I've emerged 2.2.10 if that means anything |

I use gkrellm2. I don't use gkrellmd. I've got gkrellm-2.2.10 installed and: Code: | $ equery files gkrellm | grep bin
/usr/bin
/usr/bin/gkrellm2
/usr/bin/gkrellmd |
If you don't have gkrellm2 in /usr/bin you should try re-emerging gkrellm. |

FiveFlat, the reason you can't get gkrellm on your desktop, and haven't got /usr/bin/gkrellm2, is because you have -X in your use flags.
Either:
Add X to your list of use flags in /etc/make.conf
Add app-admin/gkrellm X to /etc/portage/package.use
Then re-emerge gkrellm, either manually or by running emerge -uDavNt world which should pick it up. |

Thanks didomus!
I've been tinkering with Linux and gentoo for over 3 years and I still have a tough time with it once in a while... It's working great now. |
