all,
while browsing google, I found a text in Portuguese for setting Metisse ans some hint to use kde with it
I played a bit with the idea and this is the solution I have come to
first I start blackbox, the I run the following code in a terminal

Xmetisse -geometry 1280x1024 -ac :2 & metisse-start-fvwm -wd :2

then this in a terminal in the new fvwm with metisse open:
this work perfectly well, I have my kde desktop and I can use metisse as a window manager instead of kwin
the problem is that with backbox, kde and fvwm together, the performances are very poor
any idea how I could bypass blackbox ? using metisse directly from starting kde ?

you mean in /etc/env.d ? I did that and it start beryl  I have been messing a lot with 3d desktops

You can use that in the command line.
I am not sure, but you should also check your .xinitrc. It might -or might not- override the settings in your env.d dir. The var in the command line should also have that effect. |
