|
|
I used to have a "suspend" and a "hibernate" option, when I right-clicked on gnome-power-manager's tray icon. After "emerge world -uvDN" this morning, those options are gone. I use suspend2-sources. I have tried "hibernate-ram" from a console, and it works, but the tray icon options are gone. Any ideas why?
Another thing, when I used the "suspend" option from gnome-power-manger, the suspend wrote me two line on a black screen before suspending, I don't get those lines when I use the "hibernate-ram".
SOLVED:
DOH!
They have moved the options from right-click to left-click!
left-click and they will appear!

Did you loose the options from the Gnome shut also? I have had a similar problem, https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-562043-highlight-.html
I think it's related to updating Gnome to 2.18
When this happened to me, I forgot all about trying out "hibernate-ram". Doing so locks my laptop But I've had problems getting it to work well. I'm guessing that downgrading Gnome to 2.16 will fix the problem. I haven't because I like the new stuff. _________________ Adopt an unanswered post!

well, I don't use gnome as DE. I use xfce4 and some of the gnome apps.
I tried to downgrade, but I can't compile the 2.16 version of the power-manager |
