If I install 2007.0 (AMD64) will I have a pure 64 bits system (I know that I will need a chroot to run 32 bits applications) or will I have a hybrid 32/64 system like openSUSE ???
Thanks in advance.

If you use multilib profiles, you'll have 32/64 bit. However, if you use no-multilib profiles, you'll have only 64-bit.
Don't use the LiveCD/LiveDVD installers, though, you should install through the Gentoo Handbook. Trust me, the installers are still quite buggy. _________________ I'm too lazy to keep this stupid signature up to date, so here's something more interesting:
My friend Hetdegon can draw if you ask me.
Now using PClinuxOS on my laptop and Gentoo on my desktop and new laptop. |

Thanks sonicbhoc,
Is the multilibs an optional USE flag ??? If not, where do I find information on installing without multilibs ???
Thanks again

Have a look at the 'Choosing the Right Profile' section of the Handbook (amd64). Everything is explained there. |
