There was a new version in portage of openoffice that was installed on my machine a couple of nights ago and now it is really unstable. It dies randomly and if I try to print it will die right away. Anyone else having this problem?
app-office/openoffice-2.2.1 |

Well, it is an unstable version, so marked in Portage, you know? Do you run your whole system keyworded ~x86 or have you explicitly enabled unstable openoffice?

Don't reply if you aren't going to offer any useful help.
It is too unstable even for ~amd64.

Something is happening to me too. I compiled openoffice 2.2.1 from source on the AMD64 and I opened a document and it crashed openoffice while opening. Now openoffice won't start. _________________ Hindi ko naintindihan, pakiulit. Sometimes my code works. |

This is caused by a broken cairo, a downgrade to version 1.4.6 should solve it |

FWIW, I have the new cairo (1.4. and a compiled oo on
amd64. I have not encountered any problems (so far)
either printing or working with documents ... _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth

That may be it, I'll try that. I left it compiling back to 2.2.0 last night and it is still doing the crashing thing. So it could be something other than openoffice.
UPDATE: You are right! I just went from cairo 2.4.8 back down to 2.4.4 and openoffice is working great again! Thanks. |
