YAGTMS!!
Yet Another Gnome-Theme-Manager Story....

It used to work pretty well actually. I'm not sure I remember exactly what happened, but it must have involved X crashing at some point.
In any case, since that day, not a single user can start gnome-theme-manager. This is the output on the console:

[micky@kheops:michael/] gnome-theme-manager

(gnome-theme-manager:25241): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Two different plugins tried to register 'PixbufRcStyle'.

(gnome-theme-manager:25241): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Two different plugins tried to register 'PixbufStyle'.

(gnome-theme-manager:25241): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gobject.c: line 615
(g_object_new): assertion `G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed

And then, my CPU goes ballistic to 100% usage by that very same process it should have launched in peace.
Again, this affects all users including root. Sort of worrying. This is on a Gnome 2.2, Gentoo has had an emerge -u world a couple of days ago or so.
I'm tempted to check out GConf, but I don't know what I could or should not do :) Any ideas?

Thx

Micky

Is fam running? Try running "killall fam" before gnome-theme-manager. If that's not the case, then I don't know...
