I'm about to install a new Gentoo on a x64 machine, however I've heard a lot of bad comments about the new 2007.0 installer. So, I am wondering if it is only the GUI installer that is buggy or the whole release... I'm hoping that someone tried 2007.0 minimal could give us some insight about how that works out... Thanks |

Yes, it's only the GUI installer. Go for the minimal install CD, there is nothing wrong with that. It's a lot more fun, and you get a rehearsal in using the tools, you're going to use anyway in the administration of the system. |

Yes indeed, I find it very useful just to go through the setup process. I think the most time consuming part of the installation is to understand what is what more than typing in all the commands. |
