|
|
I can't for the life of me figure out where the hell Angband goes after I emerge it. I can't type angband at a prompt, and all my searching is for naught. Can someone help?
It's not a big emerge, maybe someone can try it and see? The only dependency is XFree. (no idea why)

Well it CAN use the XFree interface if you want to.
It doesn't have too... It can use only ncurses if you want, or Xaw.
try running updatedb and maybe angband will appear.
/usr/games/ is one probabel location, /usr/games/bin is another.
which of those is correct I don't know, I do know that one of them is not in the path.
Im compiling as I write this so we'll see where it ends up for me |

/usr/bin/angband is where it ended up.
just before the emerge is done you'll see lots of /usr/share/angband
scroll up there and you shall see where it is..
strange why it won't work for you. |

I appreciate the help. I compiled it with Use="-X" which didn't cause a problem for ZAngband. ZAngband ended up in /usr/games/bin/. I'm recompingling right now to see if it fixes anything.

Nope, It's totally bizarre. I don't appear to have an excecutable anywhere on my system. I'm playing ZAngband right now, but I sure would love to go vanilla style. =) |

I had the same problem with cdrecord...you need to unmerge it and emerge it I think...it's just wierd like that I guess. _________________ while(true) {self.input(sugar);} |

Thanks guys,

If you unmerge I think it clears the build cache so when you rebuild it again it will recompile all files, thus creating an angband without X support. |
