Alpha Live CD to wipe disk?

I have an Alpha system I want to sell or recycle. It currently has 2 scsi disks, with Debian installed. I'd like to use a wiping program or multiple write system to "completely" erase the drives before I do anything. As the current booting OS is installed on the drives, that probably won't be much help.. Is there any chance of using the Stage 3 Gentoo Live CD to accomplish this? Does anyone have any suggestions. thanks?

The Gentoo LiveCDs contain at least dd, i.e. dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/sda.
