As in app-misc/beep. I can't figure this one out. The PC speaker does work because I get a 'beep' when I log in. Yet, every which way I've tried "beep" has lead to ear-piercing silence. Anyone have any ideas?
The system sounds in Gnome never worked as well... if that is related... _________________ `/\=======/\"-

It appears that you (or your operating system) has decided to "turn off" your speaker because it found it too annoying. Try
