I have a dell wireless 1450 usb adapter that i want to use for my gentoo system. I installed the newest ndiswrapper and installed the driver for the usb wireless card. It was able to install the driver and find the usb device. My problem is, wlan0 device is not created. I think i may be missing some steps. What are the steps that i need to follow for installing a wireless usb device? Thanks in advance.
UPDATE:
I was reading the ndiswrapper wiki FAQ and rand across this:

Can I use ndiswrapper in 64-bit mode for AMD64?
Yes.
Can I use 32-bit Windows driver in 64-bit mode?
No.

I am using an amd64 gentoo kernel. I am not sure if i am using the 32 or 64 bit ndiswrapper. How can i check to see if i am using 64 or 32 bit? Also if i am using the 64 bit ndiswrapper, how can i install the 32bit version? |

well i guess, if you have a 32bit or a 64bit ndiswrapper depends on, how you compiled it.
if you compiled it for 64, then it'll be the 64bit version. |
