Hello.. Probably my 100th time installing gentoo, but this time its new hardware and not obsolete stuff. Just looking on advice, chost / flags / and just feasability.. Specs are as follows
Intel 7300 Core2Duo Santa Rosa
160Gb 5400rpm Hybrid HDD w/ 256 Mb Cache
2 Gb DDRII Ram
Nvidia GeForce 8600M G
Built in Samsung Card Reader
Intel Wireless a/b/g
Super Drive DVD dual layer +- Burner
Never played with 64bit before either, so this is like a new start. and I dont even know where to begin about the Hybrid HDD is there anything like "Ready Drive" for linux?
Thanks guys! |

Is that hybrid drive IDE, SATA, or SCSI?
Everything looks normal to me except that drive and you might want to check out the safe cflags page on the wiki for you processor info.
