i have an nforce2 motherboard, i don't have a problem compiling and inserting the nvnet.o module, but i get this error when inserting the nvaudio.o module:
/lib/modules/2.4.20-ck6/kernel/drivers/sound/nvaudio.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-ck6/kernel/drivers/sound/nvaudio.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-ck6/kernel/drivers/sound/nvaudio.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-ck6/kernel/drivers/sound/nvaudio.o: insmod nvaudio failed
it is compiled for the correct kernel... a fresh install with no changes thus far. can anybody help? i find it weird the the nvnet worked.... _________________ you can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose |

It looks like your onboard audio may not be enabled. Double check that it is in the bios.
Also, nvaudio loads multiple modules so try this instead:
Another thing to check is if you have compiled the sound support module in the kernel, and the intel8x0 as a module also, this provides the ac97 codec which nvaudio uses.
