mldonkey gmail notification

I would like to receive an email notification to my gmail address wenn a mldonkey download is finished.

I know there is a mail option in the mldonkey configuration file, but I need to authenticate to the gmail server to be able to send mails.

So, how can I use my gmail account with mldonkey? Do I have to setup a forwarding mail server?

And how do I have to configure mldonkey to use ssmtp? Do I just have to set the mail server to localhost?
