Hi there,
I have two guest systems on my VMware Workstation, Windows Vista and Windows XP. While booting one of them suddenly the VMware WS screen appears, but no Windows login screen. Booting the guest system in secure mode without any drivers, the system will be up and running.
Any hint?
[Update]
This error is based on the, as I've seen, oom-killer issue. VMware and Firefox and Thunderbird running in parallel causes the oom-killer to kill all processes if there is something consuming to much memory.
[Update]
I've upgraded the kernel from 2.6.21-gentoo-r1 to r3. I've noticed the same problems with gentoo-sources 2.6.21-gentoo-r2, but on no machine running with something else than these two (r1 and r2).
Now everything seems to work fine. |
