|
|
Hi.
I installed Gentoo on my HP J5000.
After reboot, PALO could not open the Kernel, I called Kernel /boot/vmlinux and in /etc/palo.conf: 2/vmlinux (/boot partition is on the second partition of ext2 type).
I tryed to copy vmlinux and vmlinux64 files form the universal CD, and they start booting, but I get the folowing message:
Code: |
XFS: bad magic number
XFS: SB Validate Failed
No filesystem could mount root, tryed: ext3 ext2 iso9660 xfs
Kernel Panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown - block(8,3)
|
And them the system hangs.
What could be wrong?
Why PALO can't open my compiled Kernel?
Thank you.
P.S. Because there are some hardware problems with my Visualize FX4 card, I removed it and installed via serial console, so I couldn't enter menus of Kernel configuration. Maybe thats the problem? Is there way to bypass it?
My system configuration:
HP J5000
2X PA-RISC 8500 CPU 2.0 64bit 440mhz
3.5G RAM
18.2G SCSI 2 HD
