OK,
I have googled this and searched this forum with no avail.
Lisa will not work for me. Always says the following:
"The lisa daemon does not appear to be running....blah, blah blah"
I KNOW IT IS!
I have added it to the default runlevel with "rc-update add lisa default", I see it start on boot with an [OK] and I see it in top.
I have configured it every which way with the services section of Control Center in KDE and even manually edited the file with information from the sourceforge website. It's like Konqueror can't see that it is indeed running.
smb:// works and also xfsamba works, but I would like to use the functionailty in Konqueror.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I have the same problem. I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone finds a solution.
(I would just like to add, in case it's not clear, that it's the "LAN Browser" under the services tab in Konqueror that is giving the error message about lisa not running.)
UPDATE: I managed to get lisa working by doing the following steps:
1) Use the lisa setup wizard in the KDE Control Center
2) Run '/usr/kde/3.1/bin/lisa -q -- $LISACONF 1>/dev/null' as root. (for some reason the control center wizard stopped lisa but the /etc/init.d/lisa script still detected it as running so the init script couldn't start lisa and couldn't stop lisa because it wasn't running)
3) Run '/etc/init.d/lisa restart' as root to verify that the init script works.
After following those steps, I am able to browse the local network.
Good Luck! |

I've tried the solution presented here, but to no avail. Something must be up, because I've tired Gnome and IT'S network browser won't work either. I have 3 other computers on the network that all talk to each other, so I no it's not a network problem. The addresses are given out by a DHCP server (router). And the internet works fine on the Linux box leading one to believe that the network is configured correctly in Linux.
SMB also works fine ?????? What is up with LISA? / Gnome?
