|
|
hi there,
I have a Cisco uBR900 which has been sitting on my desk for a few months...
I'd like to share my internet connection with a neighbor, use my cisco and his old cable modem (surfsomething from Motorola I think ?)
Anyways, Is there a way to setup a lan over cable with our modems (not Cat5, but the real cable like the tv one) ?
I want to do some researches about this but I don't even know which keywords to put in the search bar.
So anyone.. If you have a clue ...
Thank you !

You want to run your own cable network for just him and you? Let's say you can't. That's the short version.
Well you could buy a Cisco 7246VXR Router, an upconverter and then run a few servers on a Linux box (to satisfy DOCSIS spec) but that would be very expensive. |
