Other than Host AP can act as a access point, any other driver/program for me to make my laptop become a access point?

I Malaysia i can't get the the Prism chipset in the Wifi card that use for Host AP, so i have to find another way.
What is difference between Host AP and Host APd ? |

You can set up an Atheros chipsetted NIC as a virtual AP and let people connect to you, if that helps. You could then bridge that connection to your ethernet port and provide internet to the clients on the AP. |

hostap - Linux driver for Prism2/2.5/3
hostapd - user space daemon for access points
if your wifi chipset doesn't work with hostapd then it is 99% because it's drivers are not powerful enough to support master mode. and if they don't support master mode then there wont be any software that could turn them into access point. |
