Hi,
I am just strating to play with DVDrip. I have ripped the DVD, and have the vobs available, playing these in mplayer, or xine, gives the full image, as it should be.
If I then do the transcode step, the resulting (avi or ogg) only contains the right hand side of the image!
I am trying transcoding again, this time with some de-interlacing, but as far as I know, that shouldn't make a difference.
Also, on the last run, I ended up with 1 avi per chapter, rather than one file, is this normal? Configurable?

Make sure the automatic cropper isn't taking too much... I think the tab in DVD::Rip is called clip & zoom.
I think the option for one per chapter vs. one file is on the rip tab. |

Sorry for the delay, yeah, it looks like it was th clipper, on it's default settings, was taking half the image out!
Now set to no modifications, and works fine.
It also seems that I wanted "Chapter selection" to be set to "None". Which makes no sense in my head, but at least now I know.

Sometimes the clipper messes up if the frame it chooses randomly is really dark. If you still want to use the clipper, just type in a different random frame number and hit grab image, and see if it does a better job. |
